  • Action also Requires Rest

    Why is it that we feel so guilty about resting? We’re happy to unconsciously drive ourselves to the point of becoming ill, but setting aside an hour or two in our day to switch off and go within – that feels self-indulgent (particularly when there are responsibilities to take care of). But if we don’t take care of ourselves – that to-list is never going to get any shorter because we’ll be focusing on restoring our health and well-being instead.

  • Check in with your Soul

    I’ve started running again and noticed during one of my runs there was a tightness in my chest. I knew this was the physical manifestation of the feelings I’d been carrying about my corporate job. I’ve felt this way before. I‘m guilty of carrying my feelings instead of feeling and releasing them. Sure, movement absolutely helps release some emotions, but some feelings you carry deeper. Some feelings turn into subconscious beliefs. Some feelings you don’t realise you’re carrying until you physically notice the tightness in your chest.

  • You are the Change

    The “shoulds” won’t create change. Talking about change won’t create change. The only thing that will get you from where you are to where you want to be is action. Change will only happen if you act.

     I’ve been reminded multiple times of this over the past week. I’ve done a lot of work to get to where I am, but I know a new chapter is calling me. One that’s more aligned and authentic than I’ve experienced before. One where I am creating the change, I am in charge, I am calling the shots.

    This doesn’t happen from the sidelines. It involves putting yourself out there multiple times. Getting knocked back. Trying again. Getting knocked back. Trying again and repeating the cycle until you realise that it’s never on anyone else to give you the life you want – it’s always in your hands. Talk means nothing if you don’t take action to back yourself. (I’ll let you in on a secret - always back yourself).

     Maybe inaction and complacency have crept up on you. Maybe you settled without realising. Maybe you’re scared to act because you don’t know where it will lead you.

    Let me tell lovingly remind you that you weren’t born to be average. You were born to be extraordinary. You deserve to live an extraordinary life. You deserve to create the change you want to see. You deserve to create the impact you want to see. You deserve to serve others in a way that best uses your strengths and gifts. You deserve to inspire others. You deserve to dream bigger, more than ever before. You deserve it all.

     Always hold close to you heart that you create the change you crave – and that you are the change. Breathe it in. You create the change you crave. You are the change.
