The First Time
It’s not your responsibility to take away the pain others may be feeling, but offering your empathy is always enough.
It’s not your responsibility to change how others may be feeling, but offering to listen is always enough.
It’s not your responsibility to fix the situation other may find themselves in, but offering your presence is always enough.
You will always find the right words to say. Life can be awkward and messy - and there’s no reason why the words you speak or write need to be perfectly rehearsed either.
What we often crave is love and understanding from others, but also from ourselves. As each day comes, you can learn more about yourself and what you need to feel loved, safe and secure.
When was the first time you wanted to take away the pain someone was feeling? When the was the first time you wanted to change how someone was feeling? When was the first time you wanted to fix a situation? When did these feelings start?
More importantly, what can you do now to rewrite the narrative?
