Love & Authenticity
You don’t need to operate from a place of protecting yourself. It’s safe for you to be open and honest with yourself – and with others. You don’t have anything to hide when you’re coming from a place of love and authenticity.
One of my lessons this year has been to be true to myself and even more open and honest with those around me. For me, it’s been easier to maintain my independence than to ask others for help. If I’m not relying on anyone but myself, I can’t get hurt. But I now realise that hyper independence is a protection mechanism. I’m not letting others see the real me if I’m keeping them at a distance – and really, that’s a big disservice to myself.
I’m learning that it’s perfectly natural to rely on others, to seek connection, to form friendships and to let people into my inner world. Connection makes us human. Accepting love from others makes us human – and I want more of that in my life.
