Always My Home

Can you look beyond the frustration, the tightness and the overwhelm that’s formed in your mind? Can you let your thoughts melt away and focus on moving your body? Always come home to your body.
You can completely change how you’re feeling with one workout. That’s all it takes. When you move your body, you can think clearer and feel renewed. When you do this, you’ve shifted your focus from the internal chatter and endless to do list to moving the energy that wasn’t for your highest good.
 
It takes a lot of pressure to make me feel overwhelmed and shaken up. Today was one of those days. When you’re close to tears because you’re doing everything in your power to make things “work.” But what wasn’t working is how I was feeling. It all became a bit too much and I needed a workout (even when I didn’t feel like it).
 
An hour of resistance training and I forgot about the worries of the day. I no longer felt like things were piling up because my focus wasn’t on my mind, it was on moving my body. It was what I needed. Not what others needed from me.
 
Fitness will forever be an important part of my life and it’s on days like today where I’ll be grateful that my body is strong, capable and always my home.
